The six cost components

Typical components are pickup, origin handling, international freight, destination handling, customs clearance and delivery. Storage, checks, insurance or special handling are added only where needed.

Information that affects the price

Cargo type, package dimensions, gross weight, pickup and destination addresses, Incoterm, timing and additional services are essential. Air freight uses chargeable weight; LCL commonly uses W/M.

Freight rates and surcharges change. Calculated examples are for orientation only. A binding quotation requires assessment of the actual shipment.

PRICING & PROCESS

Transport charges: how they are calculated

International freight rates change with route, departure, capacity, fuel and currency. The main transport is therefore quoted at the current daily rate rather than presented as a permanently valid fixed price.
